Aisha is a film that stars Sonam Kapoor and is under the direction of Rajshree Ojha. This modern day take of Jane Austen’s Emma is something to watch out for because of its great music, attention-grabbing trailer and of course Sonam Kapoor herself. It is with Aisha that Indian movies showed its version of what “girl power” is really about.

The story revolves around Aisha (Sonam Kapoor) who happens to be part of the elite society and is a spoiled girl who is mixed up with the idea that everything she does is good for those people she is doing it for. Right after she matched her aunt with a guy who is from the army, she begins to get the idea that she is a love doctor. Things turn upside down when she experimented on Shefali (Amrita Puri) and things got twisted in the long run. Her bestfriend Pinky Bose (Ira Dubey) whose character is a girl simply defined as stylish and constantly mocking and her childhood friend Arjun (Abhay) are also her biggest critics on the things she does. After a few twist and turns in the film she begins to realize what is really happening in her life and begin to think if she will ever find her Mr. Right.

Chic flicks are not a common genre in Indian films and Rajshree Ojha was successfully able to come up with one that is able to reach out to the public. She may have taken too much risk by bringing the story far out but still it was enough to make sales. The climax was not much of an impact and the story seemed to be done out of a hurry.

But still, the movie is still pleasing to watch because of the cast. Sonam Kapoor surprisingly shows her mature side in her acting skills. She looked sexier and her character looked more vibrant this time compared to her previous movies. Abhay Deol’s smooth and matured guy was seomthing he did real well while Ira Dubey on the other hand is not just talented because she is the daughter of Lilette Dubey but because she indeed knows how to act and Pinky Bose would not be who she is Ira Dubey did not play her role. Audiences should also watch out for Amrita Puri who looked wonderful and sophisticated. The rest of the characters were able to play out their role real well which completed the whole film.

The costumes of a chic flick are also something to look out for and the talents of Pernia Qureshi and Kunal Rawal just shined. The cinematography under Diego Rodriguez was done well too and the music under the direction of Amit Trivedi is indeed great because it made the movie more interesting to watch.

The film as a whole is very pleasing to watch. Guys will surely make their girlfriends happy if they bring them to watch a film like Aisha.
