It is no secret that Prakash Raj has a fondness for movies that have in-depth meaning. His movie productions have always pleased audiences. After his films ‘Mozhi’, ‘Vellithirai’ and ‘Abhiyum Nanum’ has come out; he now has “Inidhu Inidhu” which is a movie remake of the Telugu hit “Happy Days”. The movie is based mainly on human emotions depicted in a more realistic approach—friendship, love, fun, hatred and jealousy.
The Tamil version of this feel-good film is under the director Guhan who started out as a cinematographer is one breezy film taken on the set of a college campus to make it come out pragmatic to its audiences. The casts are fresh and the visuals are appealing and the laid-back dialogues make it even more likeable. The storyline written by Shekar Kammula is clear-cut and is nothing more than heartfelt. Compared to other films in this genre, the film does not come out as preachy not even full of drama which makes it genuine.
Freshmen college students Sidhu (Adhith), Tyson (Narayanan), Vimal (Vimal), Shankar (Shravan), Madhu (Reshmi), Jiya Umar (Sangee) and Appu (Fenas) give out their fare shares of peer pressure, pressure in studies and the relationship they have with their parents and the friendship they share. This circle of friends later on realize that their love interests are also in the group which are in the pairing of Sidhu and Madhu, Shankar – Sangee, Appu and Vimal. On the other hand, their friend Tyson falls for a senior Sravanthi (Sonia). A teenager’s life is filled with moments full of fun and hilarious times apart from emotions of hate and jealousy. The rest of the film is about how they have managed to get up from the stress of their four years in college as well as how they have learned to give out love and respect to those who are close to their hearts.
There are a number of new actors in the cast but even if they are newbie’s they did well in their acting skills. Tyson is one character played by Narayanan deserves an applaud for his acting skills. He is fit for the role of a young man who is smart and naive. The humorous character of Vimal is what adds up to the laughter in the film. The female cast such as Reshmi was able to carry herself with much simplicity and grace. On the other hand, Sonia who is on her senior year definitely gave justice to her role and Fenaz as remarkable. Adhith and Siddhu were not able to level up with the vivacious roles that their characters once were in the original “Happy Days” film.
The direction of Guhan was enthralling as he managed to pull off the whole film and come out with great work. He did well in brining out the emotions that the scenes called for. The songs of Micky J Meyer were okay for the film but there were sounds that were unfamiliar. Overall, Guhan and Prakash Raj deserves an applause for a job well done.
