More often than not, tearjerkers at this time and age are mostly seen on sitcoms and rarely do we see them in movies. Magane En Marumagane gives us a dose of heart breaking scenes and an overall storyline that places the spotlight over the concept of family, drama and forgiveness.
Gajendran was able to once again pull off a film of a genre that he is well identified with which is stirring up family emotions yet with a hint of comedy. The essential parts of the film are carried out well because of the roles that are well portrayed by the cast.
The movie starts with showing Nasser and Saranya, a rich couple, who is known in their place as very nice and generous couple. The couple has two children, their daughter Yamini and their son Mithun. Vivek enters the scene that is a con along with Paravai Muniamma and has an evil plan of getting hold of the couple’s riches. Their plan begins when Vivek marries Yamini and as to how he is successful in this scheme of his should be something to watch out for when watching the film.
Things take a turn when Vivek is blamed for a murder that he is innocent of. To free him from his despair, Nasser uses his riches to free Vivek from prison. When Vivek was freed he and wife Yamini engaged into making money and eventually Vivek became successful. Meanwhile, Yamini’s parents turned out to be wanders and did not get any Help from their son Mithun. Vivek is on the search to look for his in-laws and came on time as Saranya gets into an accident leaving her brain dead and Mithun is need of an organ transplant. Vivek helps out in sorting the family’s hurts and heart aches.
Magane En Marumagane is filled with moral lessons that are appropriately fitted in the tear jerking scenes of the movie. The impeccable acting skills of Nasser and Saranya has convinced T.P. Gajendran that they are the perfect ones for the role and this goes the same with the audience.
The sudden turn of Vivek from antagonist to protagonist happens when Nasser saves him from his ordeal which something that may have turned out unexpected. Vivek did a great job for showing his prowess on how he carried out his character as a con and turning into a man of character.
The music aspect of the movie like Yaaradu Yaaradu has one captivating tune. Although the movie is filled with so much drama, there are certain points in the film where it unties with so much drama but there are also points when it seems to be preaching. This family friendly film was able to make audiences pull out a hanky or tissue without making it too predictable.
