Direction: Ravi Varman
Music: S.Thaman
Production: D.Ramesh Babu

It has always been a known fact that Kaveri most of the time lets down Tamil and the film Moscowin Kaveris is an addition to the list. Ravivarman is the one person behind all this who is a good cinematographer and has enchanted a lot of audiences with the many movies with his camera work.

Moscowin Kaveri is on directorial undertaking of Ravivarman and is under the produces D Ramesh Babu. The movie is about romance in the modern setting and is mainly focused on live-in relationships in between techies but nothing offensive in it. What actually spoils the flow of the movie is its lack of consistency in its narration and the rambling scenes.

It is because of this that S Thaman’s excellent music and great cinematography are not able to fortify the whole film. Instead of watching a film, what happens is you are like listening to well done songs and images from the scenes that are not related at all.

The film revolves around two IT professionals namely Moscow (Rahul Ravindran) and Kaveri (Samantha). When the two see each other for the first time, they know that love has stricken them. After a few scenes, Kaveri accepts the proposal of Moscow. The two then move into a mansion and live together and they both come from their own villages. Even if Moscow and Kaveri have their own opinions and are opposite of each other’s they later find out that the house they are living in is actually the hide out of a criminal Azhagu (Harshavardhan, sone of the veteran Y Gee Mahendra) who committed a high profile murder.

The couple comes across with hard-hitting situations that only make them learn what the strength really is behind being together. When they reach the point that they resolve their differences and learn to understand each other, a hackneyed climax is shown to the audience which for sure a lot are expecting already to happen that tests the patience as well.

The cast Rahul Raveendran has done a great job and Samantha adds life to the movie and her character is what really matches Rahul’s. The antagonist Harshavardhan does his best to be a pain in the neck but there really is no need for him to do much in the movie.

The compositions of Thaman gives the film an artistic touch. Ravivarman is not much of a director but definitely is a great cinematographer.
